Turning Grief Into Action. Supporting Families. Advancing Accountability.

Founded by Tina Sykes-Mosley in loving memory of her son, Marcus Gerard Mosley, M.A.R.C.U.S. (Mothers Advocating for Real Change and Unwavering Support) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization providing trauma-informed support, advocacy, and prevention services for families impacted by homicide.

Our mission is clear:

No mother should have to grieve alone.
No life lost to violence should be forgotten.

At M.A.R.C.U.S., we serve families navigating one of life’s most devastating experiences—offering compassionate care, structured support, and informed advocacy from the immediate aftermath of loss through the complexities of the justice system and beyond.

Our work is rooted in both lived experience and community need, ensuring that families receive support that is not only empathetic—but effective.

Through a continuum of care, M.A.R.C.U.S. delivers:

  • Direct Family Support Services that provide emotional support, court navigation, and long-term healing resources

  • Youth Prevention & Intervention Programs that engage young people and address the root causes of violence

  • Advocacy & Accountability Initiatives that elevate victims’ voices and promote transparency within systems

In addition, our community-based initiatives bring together families, leaders, and stakeholders to promote healing, awareness, and prevention.

M.A.R.C.U.S. operates at the intersection of grief support, public safety, and community advocacy—bridging critical gaps that often exist between families and the systems they must navigate.

What sets us apart is our ability to combine compassion with action—providing immediate support while also working toward long-term change.

Today, M.A.R.C.U.S. is growing as both a trusted support system for families and a credible partner for communities, organizations, and stakeholders committed to reducing violence and supporting victims.

Whether you are seeking support, looking to partner, or investing in meaningful change—your role matters here.

The Union County Teen Summit on Youth Violence is a powerful, community-centered event designed to bring together teens, parents, and community leaders for an open and honest conversation about the challenges facing our youth today.

Hosted by M.A.R.C.U.S. (Mothers Advocating for Real Change and Unwavering Support) in partnership with the Monroe Police Department, this summit creates a safe and structured space where young people can share their voices, experiences, and perspectives—and be heard by those who are in positions to create change.
