Welcome to M.A.R.C.U.S.
Mothers Advocating for Real Change and Unwavering Support

Founded by Tina Sykes-Mosley in loving memory of her son, Marcus Gerard Mosley, M.A.R.C.U.S. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit turning grief into purpose. Our mission is to ensure no mother grieves alone and to honor every life stolen by violence with dignity, remembrance, and purpose.
We walk beside families impacted by homicide — providing emotional support, advocacy, and practical guidance throughout their journey. From the first days of loss to the long road through the courtroom, we believe no one should have to face it alone.
Through programs like our Courtroom Care Program, Monthly Homicide Support Group Meetings, Parent & Family Healing Workshops, and Teen Peace & Power Workshops, we help families heal, rebuild, and find their voice.
M.A.R.C.U.S. also leads powerful community initiatives that unite grief with purpose: the Legacy of Love Candlelight Vigil for the National Day of Remembrance for Murder Victims, the Holiday of Hope Memorial Dinner, the Justice for Marcus Gerard Mosley Campaign, and the Stop the Gun Violence Rally — a public call to action for peace, prevention, and accountability across our communities.
We are more than a nonprofit — we are a movement of mothers, families, and advocates standing together for healing, justice, and change.
We carry their names. We fight for their justice. We stand for their memory.

🕊 The M.A.R.C.U.S. Courtroom Care Program
Standing beside families every step of the way.
When families walk into a courtroom to seek justice for their loved ones, they carry more than grief — they carry courage, memories, and hope. At M.A.R.C.U.S., we make sure they don’t carry it alone.
Through this program, we offer families:
-
Comfort & Note-Taking Support
Our team sits beside families throughout the trial, providing presence and taking detailed notes so they can remain fully present in the moment. -
Warm, Nourishing Meals
Daily lunches are provided during trial breaks — giving families space to breathe, regroup, and find strength for the road ahead. -
Steady Companionship
We offer a compassionate presence, ensuring no family faces the courtroom alone.
This program is more than logistics — it’s love in action, making sure families feel seen, supported, and surrounded by community during some of the hardest days of their lives.

Empowering change, one mother at a time. M.A.R.C.U.S. is fighting for stronger consequences for juvenile crime while providing unwavering support for families. Together, we can build a safer future for our children!

M.A.R.C.U.S. -- Union County Monthly Homicide Support Group meets every third Thursday from 6 PM to 8 PM at South Piedmont Community College, located at 4209 Old Charlotte Hwy, Building A, Room 1601, Monroe, NC.
